January 12: black linen waterfall jacket with satin binding

I needed an all black jacket for throwing over tight(ish) tops, and had some linen lying around. I love linen, my favourite fabric of all. I quickly put the jacket together, using the same Burda pattern I used for the embroidered tablecloth jacket I made previously. It’s a great pattern and so very easy and quick. I recommend this Burda pattern to anyone, because all the important pattern-piece info is printed on the pattern in German (obviously), English and also Russian. Payment can be made by Paypal and because these patterns are downloaded, printed, glued together and then cut out, they are cheap from anywhere in the world.

I had planned to use black on black machine embroidery along the edges, but after I put the satin bias binding on I liked it so much in its simple elegance, that it’ll stay like it is.

Ich hatte eigentlich vor die Kanten mit der Maschine zu besticken, aber es gefaellt mir sehr gut so wie es ist: schlichtes schwarzes Leinen mit schwarzem Satin.
